For guitar teachers this rhythmic dilemma can be a frustrating one. Our teaching instinct wants to "help out," the student by discussing things like; meter, feel of the best and overall timing, (as well as, details like; eighth-notes, triplets and all of the other areas of rhythmic duration).
While this is great for general rhythmic knowledge, it rarely helps to do very much for a student's existing problem of not being able to hear and then duplicate rhythm guitar parts from a song.
