Micro Lesson 042: "Key of A" Country-Rock Riff

Welcome to...
"Micro-Lesson 042"

This micro lesson covers a Country-Rock Riff in the "Key of A"

This Micro Lesson takes a look at a Country Rock Riff. The riff is unique in how it doesn't stay within one key signature. In measure one, we rapidly move through, "G" to "D" major triads resolving into an "A" major triad. At the end of measure one we find an "A Minor Pentatonic" lick pushing into measure two. This measure begins with double-stops pulling the Major 6th into the Minor 7th. After a quick resolution into an, "A5" (power chord), we apply further Minor 3rd and Major 6th color. After the repeat, we find a strong 'all power chord' ending, leaning into the Minor tonality yet again. Enjoy!
